The flashback then reveals that Mobray, Gage, Bob and Jody came to the Habberdashery together, killed everyone in the establishment except for Smithers and then simply waited for Ruth and Daisy to show up. We also learn that each of the four characters are part of the same outlaw team (known as the "Jody Domingre Gang") and three of them have been using aliases: Gage is Grouch Douglass, Mobray is actually Pete Hicox, and Bob's real name is Marco. This lengthy aside frames the final half-hour of the movie perfectly and is easily one of Tarantino's best uses of the puzzle-like time-jumping device he popularised in Pulp Fiction. When the final chapter begins, we are so, so ready to see s*** go down.
