18 Crazy Facts You Have To Accept To Enjoy The Wizarding World Movies
16. Continuity? What Continuity?
Another distracting thing you just have to go with is the lack of continuity throughout the films. The geography of Hogwarts keeps changing, characters are constantly disappearing and reappearing and spells keep behaving different between the films.
This creates a number of major goofs throughout the films. Only a person who's seen death can see the Thestrals, for example, but Harry should've been able to see them from second year onwards rather than from fifth year-onwards, since he'd seen Quirrell (Ian Hart) die at the end of the first film.
Meanwhile, various subplots, such as Grawp the Giant, are totally abandoned throughout the films and quite a few characters, such as Madam Hooch, Nearly Headless Nick (John Cleese) and Vincent Crabbe (Jamie Waylett) disappear from later films altogether (although the latter example was due to the actor's legal issues).
