18 Crucial Questions For 2016's Most Anticipated Movies
7. How Long Is The Joker's Screen Time? - Suicide Squad
The Question: There has been much discussion in recent months as to the size of The Joker's (Jared Leto) role in the upcoming DC movie: will he take a role equivalent to the Suicide Squad's leader Deadshot (Will Smith), or will he be more of a supporting player who appears in and disappears from the movie like a phantom? The Likely Answer: The Joker has been shown to function best as an intermittent character (his screen time in The Dark Knight was less than you probably think, just 33 minutes out of 152), so it's probably safe to expect Leto's screen time to be less than 30 minutes, showing up every so often to make an impact and then allowing the Squad's other characters to be introduced. Given how much writer-director David Ayer will have to juggle inside a 2-hour-ish run-time, it's gotta be for the best.
