18 Disney Movies Coming In 2021 And Beyond
6. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings
There are so many reasons to be excited for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Firstly, a brand new superhero will be introduced into the MCU. The titular character, famed for his skill in martial arts, will be a welcome addition to the franchise, and utterly unique compared to anything else in the movies.
This will also be the franchise's first movie led by an Asian actor, continuing Marvel Studios' conscious push for greater diversity in the MCU. Simu Liu will be joined by Tony Leung, Awkwafina, and Ronny Chieng.
Not only will we see Shang-Chi in 2021, but also the real Mandarin. After Iron Man 3 teased Ben Kingsley's character as the iconic villain, the Marvel One-Shot 'All Hail the King' confirmed the true Mandarin was out there somewhere. In Shang-Chi, we will finally see him come to the big screen, and with the Ten Rings no less, a group that have been around in the MCU since the very beginning.
It's a shame the movie was forced to move from its original release date of 12th February 2021, the first day of the Chinese New Year, but with Eternals now taking up that slot, we won't see Shang-Chi debut until 7th May.
