18. Loki's Deception - Thor: The Dark World

The Film

Still the worst film in the MCU, the second Thor movie was plagued by production issues and rumours of studio interference and the results show in the final product. It's muddled, messy and tonally inconsistent with a villain who really doesn't match up to his comic book counterpart.

Sure, it has its moments and some of the performances are great, but they're way too few and far between for it to ever be any better than the bottom rung.

The Moment

Had there not been a third Thor movie, it would have been a travesty that we never got to see how Loki's deception of Odin played out - or what happened to Asgard with him ruling. Luckily, Marvel kept faith, though and we got to see all of that.

It's only a brief moment in The Dark World, but seeing Odin's image fade away to reveal Loki was one of the biggest "Oh SH*T!" moments in the entire MCU.
