18. Al Pacino Loved Guardians Of The Galaxy...And Has Met Marvel About A Future Role
When Al Pacino was being interviewed at the Venice Film Festival in August, he let slip that his kids had forced him to go see Guardians of the Galaxy, and he revealed that he thought it was "amazing", particularly due to the "Shakespearean feeling" the entire project had. He then added that he would love to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe if they could find a place for him. Naturally, it didn't take long for film fans everywhere to go nuts, first that an actor of Pacino's serious-mindedness would even watch a Marvel film in the first place (let alone enjoy it), and secondly, that perhaps Marvel could find a part for 'ol Al in the next Guardians movie. The net melted down again in December when the screen legend confirmed that he had met with Marvel Studios, suggesting a certain seriousness to his earlier remarks. Perhaps fanboy dreams everywhere will be answered if Pacino ends up playing Peter Quill's father in Guardians 2?
