10. Paul McCartney's Totally Pointless Cameo - Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

In terms of wildly unnecessary cameos, there's nothing quite as blatantly, functionally useless as Paul McCartney's 50-second appearance as Jack Sparrow's (Johnny Depp) Uncle Jack.

When Sparrow is being led out of his cell to be executed, he sees his uncle in one of the cells and briefly stops by for a throwaway chat that basically just says, "Hey everyone, we got one of the two surviving Beatles to appear in our movie! Look!"

It's all the more disappointing as pre-release reports suggested that millions had been spent on McCartney's cameo, and so many naturally expected that it'd be a lavish musical number.

In reality, though, he probably filmed his quick chit-chat in about 15 minutes and went on with the rest of his day.
