19 Awesome Movie Cameos Nobody Saw Coming

1. Bill Murray - Zombieland

And finally, the Holy Grail of surprise cameos has to be Bill Murray's terrific appearance in Zombieland. When Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and the other survivors hole up at Bill Murray's house, they encounter Murray himself, dressed in zombie makeup.

He then plays a prank on Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), sneaking up on him while pretending to be a zombie, and an unaware Columbus panickedly shoots him through the chest.

As everyone gathers around a dying Murray, he's asked about his life regrets, and retorts with the immortal one-liner, "Garfield, maybe."

You needn't be a huge Murray fan to find this scene funny, but if you are, it elevates the cameo to monolithic proportions. It's the gold standard by which all cameos, especially those involving actors playing themselves, are judged.
