20 Amazing Movie Plot Twists That Never Get Talked About
13. The Figure Is A Serial Killer - Don't Look Now
Nicolas Roeg's masterful psychological horror film Don't Look Now follows Laura and John Baxter (Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland), a married couple who travel to Venice while grieving the accidental drowning death of their daughter.
Local clairvoyants claim that John's late daughter is trying to warn him of impending danger, and though initially skeptical, a series of bizarre and unsettling happenings give him increasing pause.
Above all else, John keeps sighting what appears to be his daughter in Venice, wearing the very same distinctive red raincoat she was wearing during her drowning, all while reports emerge of a serial killer rampaging in the city. But in the film's climax, when John doggedly pursues and corners the coat-wearing figure, he learns the horrible truth - it isn't his daughter, but a female dwarf serial killer who promptly kills John with a meat cleaver.
Basically, all of the strange sights John witnessed throughout the film - including Laura attending a funeral - were premonitions of his own demise.
