20 Awesome 2015 Movies You Might've Missed

1. The End Of The Tour

The Plot: Based on journalist David Lipsky's memoir Although of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself, the film follows Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) as he reminisces about his brief time spent on the road interviewing eccentric, late novelist David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel). Why It's Awesome: The End of the Tour is a testament to the power of a great conversation. Director James Ponsoldt's (Smashed, The Spectacular Now) latest isn't really much more than a series of conversations wrapped around a loose road trip formula, but as the pair open up about their own relationships, art, and the world at large, it's almost impossible not to get drawn in. Eisenberg is great, but it's Segel who truly surprises here, delivering easily the best performance of his career, a restrained feat that provides insight into Wallace as a man warm and peculiar. Layering the discussions both fascinating and funny is an undeniable veil of sadness regarding Wallace's demise, and to that tune the film plays firm tribute to a man taken from us all far too soon. How many of these criminally under-appreciated 2015 movies have you seen? Shout it out in the comments!
