Tina (Alice Lowe) Sightseers It might not have been too many people's idea of a good time, but this dark black comedy from Ben Wheatley (which was written by stars Steve Oram and Alice Low) was a feast of unhinged, violent Britannia at its grim, dark best. Since it was written by a pair of comics, there were inevitable touches of comedy, like this lie fabricated by Low's Tina to try and get husband to murder an intruder. 12. Don't get me wrong. It's a dream vacation. I mean, I load up. I go into space. I get inside the maximum-security nuthouse. Save the President's daughter, if she's not dead already. Get past all the psychos who've just woken up. I'm thrilled that you would think of me. - Snow (Guy Pearce) Lockout Yes, it might be terrible, and a thinly-veiled rip-off of Escape From New York, but Lockout turned an awful lot of heads thanks to its cheerfully ridiculous synopsis, and a retro-feeling stupidity that was irresistible just about up to the point you actually saw the film. Still, Pearce's Snow was ripped out of an earlier, better action film, and he had some ludicrous lines with this one coming full circle to embrace the utter idiocy of the film's story-line.
