20 Best Blu-rays Of 2015

4. Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Say what you will about the lacklustre sequel to The Avengers, but Marvel sure do know how to cram a Blu-ray full of great extra features and interesting commentary tracks. Although a lot of it is a certain amount of self-congratulating and back-patting, what you can't put past Kevin Feige, Joss Whedon and the cast and crew is the sheer passion with which they approach the material. For those unhappy with the film, Joss Whedon's commentary track is for you - he cops to the sequel not necessarily being the film that he wanted to make (which will be fuel to the fire for those of us who bemoan studio interference with our superhero movies). He describes it as one giant compromise, which is not want fans to hear - but it's refreshing to hear it come straight from the horse's mouth.
The deleted scenes provide further illumination as to moments that felt incomplete within the movie (Bathtime with Thor, for example), and the gag reel argues the case for the Blu-ray being worth its price. Marvel fans should have this in their collection whether they liked the film or not.
