20 Best Blu-rays Of 2015

17. Jurassic World

Jurassic World was absolute fan service - a 2 hour 4 minute thrill ride that made up for in awesome dino-moments where it lacked in character depth. Chris Pratt's Owen Grady may very well have no arc (he starts a badass and ends a badass), but you can't deny how cool it is seeing him ride his motorbike into battle alongside a pack of raptors. For the most part the special features on this Blu-ray are slim pickings, but Chris Pratt's infectious enthusiasm and humour really elevates them into essential viewing. The guy's definitely a star for making such pointless featurettes as 'Innovation centre tour with Chris Pratt' and 'Chris and Colin take on the world' funny and interesting - especially the latter, where the star and director Colin Trevorrow discuss all things Jurassic Park.
There is a funny, if slightly weird deleted scene with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard's characters rubbing dino-poop over themselves (to disguise their scent) in a callback to Jurassic Park's original dino-poop scene. It's funny because it allows for some nice comedic beats, but it gets real weird, real fast when Grady seemingly starts getting turned on by the sensual way in which Claire applies the poop to her legs. It's... it's weird. But it exists. And you can own it!
