20 Best Ever Quentin Tarantino Characters

5. Lieutenant Aldo Raine- Inglourious Basterds

Brad+Pitt+som+Lt €˜Aldo The Apache€™ is without doubt one of my favourite Brad Pitt performances, and though he is not in Inglourious Basterds all that much, which is a shame for how fun he and his Basterds are, as well as misleading as he is front and centre of most Basterd posters, he still nevertheless gives a memorable performance, from his endlessly quotable introduction, €˜I want my scalps!€™, to his terrible Italian accent and his never referenced scar around his neck. He is by far one of Tarantino€™s coolest creations, brought to life by one of planet earth€™s coolest guys. It is quickly discovered how Aldo gets his name of €˜The Apache€™, as we see him and his fellow Basterds brutally scalp their Nazi victims, and when it comes to Tarantino and blood and violence, there is no doubt the unflinching depictions of scalping, as well as Aldo scraping a Nazi Swastika into Hans Landa€™s forehead at the end of the film, are some of the most violent and unsettling scenes Tarantino has ever filmed. Aldo is the All-American hero, from his ridiculously square and protruding jaw, to his belief that every Nazi that survives the war should have a Swastika carved into their head, so forever more everyone would be able to identify who was a Nazi. Aldo's entire character drive being that of €˜Killin€™ Nazi€™s€™, makes him an incredibly simple, yet hard not to love and respect character.
