Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the most ambitious superhero movies ever made - the Avengers: Endgame of Spider-Man films, if you like.

And while No Way Home can't match the storytelling nuance of Spider-Man 2 or Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, as a distilled exercise in quality fan service it absolutely works.

Without going into the narrative particulars, this is an enormously crowd-pleasing piece of work, delivering riveting high-wire action alongside a gratifying attempt to thread the three major Spider-Man cinematic universes together in a meaningful and emotional way.

The result is somewhat messy yet almost never not highly entertaining, giving many fans what they might consider their dream Spider-Man movie. Even with its scripting flaws, it's difficult not to be won over by No Way Home's giddy conceit.
