5. Detective Steven Sing - Shot (SAW)
Detective Tapp's best bud, Steven Sing's death in Saw is what sends Danny Glover's character spiralling into the insane maniac we know and love later on.
An accomplished and brave detective, Sing's death comes after he and Tapp pursue Jigsaw through several of his games and culminates when he and his partner discover Jigsaw's lair and a man in the middle of nasty looking drill trap. Tapp taps out after a blade to neck once Jigsaw returns and Sing quickly leaves his buddy to follow the hooded killer, not spotting the string suspended at the end of the corridor Jigsaw paced down.
Sing trips the switch by walking through the wire strewn across the room and ends up being shot by four shotguns suspended from the ceiling. We get some awesome blood effects, an artistic shot of Sing's body and see the full impact of his death on Tapp for the remainder of the film.
