20 Best Movie Performances Of 2018
19. Tilda Swinton (Suspiria)
Though she won't be getting many awards plaudits for her work, Tilda Swinton is the glue holding together Luca Guadagnino's ambitious remake of Dario Argento's horror classic.
Swinton pulls triple duty here, most prominently appearing as dance choreographer Madame Blanc, while also slinking into mind-meltingly impressive old-man makeup to play psychotherapist Josef Klemperer, and finally, she gets into a full body suit as the grotesque witch Mother Markos.
Each of the roles feels distinctive and unpredictable, with Swinton once again proving her ability to effortlessly disappear beneath a character and not draw attention to herself.
She's by far the best thing in the movie and the anchor that it so desperately needed.
