One of the best movies of 2013 brought with it one of the best posters of 2013. The dark backdrop of space and the free floating astronaut are terrifying to anyone who imagines what it would be like to be in that position. This one-sheet is my favorite out of all the Gravity posters because it relies solely on the concept of the the film itself, and not on its star-studded cast.
1. Blackfish
The simple black and white image of a killer whale isn't what we're used to seeing orcas portrayed as. It lacks the friendly feel of Free Willy or Shamu. It instead portrays reality. Tilikum, a killer whale in captivity, who has killed three people in thirty years after being taken from its pod at a young age. With his slumped over dorsal fin barely visible (which free orcas never have) and scars acquired in captivity, the poster gives a grim glimpse of what the documentary expands on - the violent and sad reality of orca captivity.
