The Hateful Eight debuted a devastatingly minimalist teaser poster at San Diego Comic-Con this year. The oft-used iconic Western typography (been a lot of that, this year) once again implies the film's period setting, whereas the real kicker is that tagline. "No one comes up here without a damn good reason." It rattles around the brain, implying that yes, there are gonna be eight badass archetypes and yes, they're all going to collide in a remote, inhospitable location. That setting will clearly be key in amplifying the hateful eights' desperation, and thusly whatever decisions they make within the context of the film. This remote, snowbound cabin is as much a character in the film as the eight principals, and this artwork sells that.
