14. Spider-Man: Far From Home
The big story about Spider-Man this year wasn't even one that happened on the big screen, but against the backdrop of the near-miss of the Great Sony/Marvel Fall-Out, it's easy to forget just how great Spider-Man: Far From Home actually was.
Hot on the trail of Avengers: Endgame, Far From Home cleverly went smaller scale, but dealt with the fallout of that huge story in a nuanced, personal way by focusing on the legacy of Tony Stark.
It even managed to make the decision to take Spidey out of New York work, which was a remarkable achievement given the potential pitfalls. And bringing in Jake Gyllenhaal to explore the idea of heroism in a new way and to allow for some truly astonishing set-pieces was also inspired. That ending was also ridiculously good.
