15. Friends With Money (Jennifer Aniston)

For a film that not only turned a profit at the box office but also scored well with critics and boasted the winning acting quartet of Jennifer Aniston, Joan Cusack, Catherine Keener, and Frances McDormand, it's shocking that more people aren't familiar with Nicole Holofcener's mid-brow dramedy.

Aniston gets a firm chance to flex her dramatic muscles as Olivia, a poor woman working as a maid in Los Angeles struggling to make ends meet while her three pals all coast by in luxury - or so it seems.

While Holofcener's film sometimes reeks of a well-crafted sitcom, it's nevertheless full of human insights while making the most of its four leading ladies.

McDormand and Aniston are the easy standouts here in a film that could so easily have felt like a rote checklist of middle-class problems, but ultimately prevails as a well-observed character study.
