Proving that there's plenty of life left in the zombie genre yet, this riveting and surprisingly affecting post-apocalyptic survival tale gives Martin Freeman the floor to deliver perhaps the strongest performance of his career.

This was terrifically shot and splendidly acted throughout while touting a unique Australian locale and unconventional approach to the undead horde.

It's easy to imagine a different version of this movie which played far more broadly and dabbled more aggressively in genre tropes, but thankfully Cargo is all about the characters.

Wringing tremendous emotion out of Freeman's beleaguered protagonist attempting to get his baby daughter to safety, this is a gemstone in Netflix's recent genre output.
