20 Best Performances In Superhero Movies
17. Tom Hiddleston - Loki (The Avengers)
After being introduced as a mildly diverting presence in Thor, Tom Hiddleston cemented Loki as an all-timer MCU antagonist in The Avengers.
While Thanos sat in the cheap seats watching the chaos from afar, it was Loki who got to cause all manner of mayhem on Earth and face off against the world's mightiest heroes.
Joss Whedon's savage one-liners give Hiddleston plenty of room to project the villain's playful menace, and pretty much every second he's on screen, you can tell he's having a whale of a time. The feeling transpires through to the audience wholesale.
Loki proved so unexpectedly popular that he became a recurring character until Infinity War where, finally, his luck appeared to run out.
Best Moment: Getting rag-dolled by The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). No question.
