9. All The Mindless Property Destruction (Man Of Steel)

Nothing in Man of Steel was as widely-lamented as the wanton destruction of Metropolis that took place during Superman's final battle with Zod.

The issue wasn't so much that an alien antagonist turned up and all Hell broke loose, but that Clark seemed so blase and reckless about the clear human death toll and leveling of a city. There needed to be more of him actually attempting to minimise the destruction, but instead he felt like a far cry from the protector that Superman is supposed to be.

Again, the collateral damage itself isn't the problem, but how Zack Snyder and co. chose to deal with it, leading to the rather on-the-nose attempts to apologise for it in Batman v Superman.
