Recent rumours suggest Chris Pine could star in Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman entry in their burgeoning DC cinematic universe, with some scuttlebutt even going so far as to link Captain Kirk with the role of a retooled Green Lantern. Whatever the plans for the Green Lantern reboot due in 2020 (and Pine would be a fine choice), the first incarnation of the Emerald Crusader set the bar encouragingly low.

Ryan Reynolds wasn’t the issue in the ill-fated 2011 cash burner, though Reynolds does seem to have acquired a horrible knack for picking wrong ‘uns. The problem with Green Lantern was… where to begin? It’s easier to let the Critics Consensus on Rotten Tomatoes sum it up:

“Noisy, overproduced, and thinly written, Green Lantern squanders an impressive budget and decades of comics mythology.”

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
