20 Biggest Things The Harry Potter Movies Left Out
11. Charlie Weasley
In The Book
The second eldest of the Weasley siblings was a bit of an enigma in the books, appearing only at the very end of things when the Battle Of Hogwarts was hurtling towards its end. Having only been mentioned (and his history vaguely established - likes dragons, lives in Romania), he appeared with reinforcements just as Neville killed Nagini and helped drive the Death Eaters back once and for all.
In The Film
Aside from being mentioned and appearing in one family photo, it's almost like Charlie doesn't exist. He doesn't turn up with a Hail Mary pass in the Battle, and while there are some suspicions he can be seen in the background of Bill and Fleur's wedding, he might as well not be involved at all.
Was It A Positive Cut?
It's more unfortunate than anything else: he wouldn't have added a great deal, but his absence just makes it look like he's not that bothered about his family being in peril. The changes to the Battle Of Hogwarts was a worse cut, as it was shortened considerably, but run-times are a pretty harsh mistress.
