14. Paging Dr Burton...
In Batman Forever, Dr Burton was originally intended to make two appearances - the first to discover that Two Face had escaped from Arkham Asylum, leaving a chilling message of "The bat must die," (which was cut) and secondly when he accompanies Dr Chase Meridian to see the recently incarcerated Edward Nygma, who claims he knows Batman's real identity. There's no mistaking the homage to Tim Burton in the good doctor's wavy, wild black hair, as well as his name, and the cherry on the icing is of course the Nightmare Before Christmas referencing bow-tie, which looks a lot like a simplified version of that worn by Jack Skellington.
