20 Brilliantly Obscure Marvel Movie Easter Eggs You Didn't Notice

12. Pulp Fiction?!

In Iron Man 3's prologue scenes in that introduce the younger, more arrogant Tony, and an even more awkward Happy Hogan, the body-guards attire is a reference to Quentin Tarantino's coolest film. Because Shane Black is a shameless magpie of great action flicks (and cool movie moments in general) he dressed Hogan up as Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction, complete with longer hair, black suit and awful bolo tie that looks a hell of a lot better on John Travolta than Jon Favreau. There was also going to be a UFC gag, which didn't make it to the final film, as Hogan watched a fight on TV, somewhat needlessly referencing Jon Favreau's role as billionaire Pete on Friends (who himself was pretty much a non-combative homage to Stark.)
