4. Journey Into Mystery

Another billboard Easter Egg following the appearance of Fin Fang Foom in Iron Man, this billboard nod in Thor is far more obscure. In the background, we get a brief shot of a billboard advertising New Mexico, and carrying the slogan "Land of Enchantment €“ Journey into Mystery," which of course, Thor fans will recognise as a reference to the comic book that gave Thor his debut. The Asgardian made his first appearance in Journey Into Mystery No.83. There's also a nod to Thor's human origin in the comics when his fake ID flashes up, carrying the name Dr Donald Blake. That is of course a reference to Thor's mortal bodily host that Odin trapped him in to teach him some humility in the comics.
