In Iron Man, as Tony Stark and Iron Monger face off with the city backdrop behind them, we get a brief glimpse of a Roxxon building in the background, hinting of course to the corporation responsible for the death of Stark's parents. And that's not the last of Roxxon in the franchise, as there's also a reference in the climactic battle in Iron Man 3. As Stark's Iron Legion battle the Extremis soldiers, Killian talks about assassinating the president as revenge for his turning a blind eye to the Roxxon Norco oil spill. Roxxon are clearly a toxic influence in Stark's universe.
