Leave it to Sylvester Stallone, during his box office wilderness period, to pounce on this 2000AD character and turn him into just another action hero.
Wanted for a crime he didn’t commit (yawn), Sly goes through the motions while a terrific supporting cast (including Scott Wilson, James Remar and Ian Dury) is wasted.
Throw in some videogame-like special effects (plus Rob Schneider, who’s even more annoying here than he was in Demolition Man), and you’ve got a movie that makes you wonder why they bothered. Stick to Karl Urban’s version instead.
