The most remarkable thing about Sin City is the way in which it resembles its source material and still manages to feel like a self-contained motion picture (take note, Zack Snyder). With a long-awaited sequel on the horizon (coming to cinemas this year, no less), it's bizarre to think that it's almost been a decade since Robert Rodriguez (best known for From Dusk Till Dawn and the Spy Kids movies) and comic book legend Frank Miller brought the world of Sin City to life. Visually, this movie is something else entirely. Indeed, the look of the movie is without a doubt its most noticeable feature - Rodriguez shoots entirely on green screen to replicate the feel of Miller's original works, rendering very nearly the entire movie using the same framing as the panels of the comic books. The results are dark, dank, bloody and deliciously exciting, as a cast of characters played by an incredible cast including (but not limited to) Bruce Willis, Michael Madsen, Mickey Rourke and Clive Owen - shoot guns, splatter blood, and explode all over the screen. Fingers crossed that the sequel, subtitle A Dame To Kill For, can deliver the goods all over again.
