With that in mind, here are 20 comic book movies that are totally, 100% flawless.
20. Snowpiercer (2013)
Though far from the first film that comes to mind when you think of a comic book movie, Bong Joon-ho's dystopian action-thriller Snowpiercer is nonetheless one of the finest you'll ever see.
Based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, the gritty sci-fi flick takes place on a train barreling through a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and follows the last remnants of humanity as their fractured existence erupts into a violent and revealing class war.
Claustrophobic and unsettling, Snowpiercer tackles themes such as oppression and inequality with gusty action sequences, haunting twists, and committed character work from its core cast, which includes the likes of Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, and Song Kang-ho.
Sure to leave you gasping for air but begging for more, Joon-ho's English-language debut is a searing thriller, and remains one of his best films to date.
