20 Most Controversial Movies Since 2000

5. Visitor Q

CineRocket

A film which opens with a title reading, "Have you ever done it with your dad?" needs little explanation as to the cause of controversy, and Visitor Q, directed by perhaps the most radical and controversial director currently working in Japan, Takashi Miike, certainly earned its reputation as a movie difficult to stomach.

Opening with an incestual sex scene in which the daughter prostitutes herself to her father - and then increases the price when he ejaculates too early - is pushing boundaries that in real life only a complete pervert would stretch to - that Visitor Q is fairly unrelenting from this point on, as a mysterious stranger seduces each member of the household in turn, shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's seen any other Miike films. It's also humorous in that incredibly dark (you might say pitch black) manner that Miike relishes, but any laughter is inevitably followed by an uncomfortable silence as you wait to see what Visitor Q will throw at you in the next scene.
