20 Craziest Stunts In Movie History

9. Mickey Gilbert And Howard Curtis - Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid

Just as The Man Who Would Be King got movie fans hot under the collar at the prospect of Michael Caine and Sean Connery sharing the screen, so too did Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid create a storm of anticipation by pairing Robert Redford and Paul Newman as the famous outlaws. Director George Roy Hill brings energy and wit to the proceedings, and while it is perhaps best remembered for the freeze frame ending as Butch and Sundance charge out of a building into a hail of bullets, stunt fans will remember it best for the double cliff jump - Redford and Newman performed a small jump of six feet onto a mattress, but it was down to Mickey Gilbert and Howard Curtis to perform the full drop.
