20 Most Disappointing Movies Of The 2000s

1. Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (2008)

The almost twenty year gap separating Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and the long-awaited follow-up, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, meant that there was probably no way for director Steven Spielberg to meet the levels of expectations associated with the franchise, regardless of how good the movie turned out. So if we braced ourself for a a couple of missteps, nobody was really prepared for this. Granted, there are worse movies out there, but on sheer "disappointment factor" alone, Kingdom takes the golden prize. Clinging to a bizarre plot about aliens and featuring a creaky lead performance from Harrison Ford, this is a genuine curiosity; it's a wonder as to how Spielberg ever thought anything inherent to this movie was a good idea. Aliens? You can blame George Lucas for that one. Scenes in which Indy finds himself flying through the air inside a refrigerator? Like something out of a fanfic! Years later, Indy fans are yet to forgive the master filmmaker for turning in something so shoddy second rate, covered in a horrid layer of CGI. And starring Shia LaBeouf. Like this article?
