The Moment: After "dying" in Batman v Superman, the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) finally returns to help the Justice League battle Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds).

Why It Will Define 2017: The marketing for Justice League has made almost no mention of Superman so far, and it seems reasonable to assume that he won't show up in the film for a long time, perhaps even until the climactic final battle.

It's a bold move and perhaps a rare smart one in the DCEU to date, though let's not get ahead of ourselves yet. Either way, Zack Snyder can typically nail those visually eye-popping, epic moments extremely well, so Superman's return, possibly decked out in a new black outfit if rumours are to be believed, should be one of the year's most unforgettable moments, comic book movie or otherwise.
