20 Essential Movie Performances That Will Define 2015

18. Amy Schumer - Amy (Trainwreck)

Release Date: July 17 (US), August 28 (UK) The Movie: Judd Apatow's latest comic drama, about a commitment-phobic woman considering settling down with a nice guy (Bill Hader) she meets. The Role: Schumer plays the title character, and considering that she wrote the script herself, there's a 100% guarantee that it will be tailored to her strengths as a comic actress. An early screening out of the SXSW festival last month was rapturously received. Why It'll Define 2015: Because Schumer is probably going to blow up huge once this movie comes out. Remember how big Seth Rogen got after Knocked Up was released? Expect Schumer to start showing up in loads of female comedies, and it'll all be traced back to this one hit role.
