20 Films That Will Define 2016

6. Captain America: Civil War

Release Date: 6th May (US) - 29th April (UK) Director: Anthony & Joe Russo Starring: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie The real war is between comic companies, not characters. Snyder's biggest obstacle, Captain America: Civil War arrives a single month later than Dawn of Justice, meaning Marvel will know the box-office benchmark they need to overcome in order to beat DC. With The Winter Soldier twosome firmly back in the driving seat, and armed with a newly-formed plethora of fanatical crime fighters, gear up for the latest addition to the ever-growing MCU. Evans, Downey Jr., Johansson, Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo and Emily VanCamp will all reprise their roles, plus Paul Rudd's Ant-Man is along for the ride as well as Daniel Bruhl, Martin Freeman, Chadwick Boseman, Marisa Tomei and Tom Holland's newly-cast Spider-Man. The cast size is as reflectively mad as the concept: An incident leads to the Avengers developing a means to deal with constant threats to humanity, which in turn escalates into an open fight between allies Iron Man and Captain America.
