Release Date: 15th April (US / UK) Director: Jon Favreau Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Bill Murray, Christopher Walken When you watch the trailer for Disney's forthcoming adaptation of The Jungle Book (something they have done brilliantly before), take this into consideration: 95% of what you are looking at is not real. The world of the film; its landscapes, spaces and foliage are all visual effects, as is the whole animal cast. The only actual live actor featured throughout is young Neel Sethi as Mowgli. The film was totally shot in a studio stationed in downtown Los Angeles. It is possibly the largest step in digital rendering since James Cameron's Avatar. With an all-star voice cast including Johansson as the very first female Kaa, plus Elba, Murray, Walken, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong'o and Emjay Anthony, Faverau's audacious take on Rudyard Kipling's celebrated story looks sure to stun and spellbind in equal measure. The promotional material teases a rich, dense colour pallet and gorgeously realistic creature design so fingers are firmly crossed that the final product is as equally effective. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcgJRQWxKnw
