17. Peter MacNicol - Sophie's Choice

Peter MacNicol played the incredibly irritating servant of Vigo, Janosz Poha, in Ghostbusters II but an earlier role was one that modern audiences might not be familiar with. It's not as though it was a small role or an unknown movie, but his role as writer Stingo in 1982's Sophie's Choice was overshadowed by the brilliant Meryl Streep in an Academy Award winning performance. If you haven't seen the movie, it's well worth checking it out, as MacNicol was also superb.
