20 Great Films You Won't Believe Aren't On IMDb's Top 250

3. Children Of Men

Toy Story 2

The Departed. Whiplash. The Prestige. Django Unchained. The Dark Knight Rises. Inglorious Bastards. The Secret in Their Eyes. Shutter Island. Gone Girl. If all of those inferior films from the 21st century can get onto the IMDb Top 250, then Children of Men - one of the 21st century's best films - should've had its place firmly booked.

A post-apocalyptic masterpiece, Children of Men is blockbuster film-making on a different level. With ingenious direction and dazzling long-takes combined with an intelligent, soulful and insightful screenplay this is a uniquely captivating experience and almost certainly one of the best British films of all time.

Why doesn't it have a spot on the list? There isn't really a logical explanation for that. Regarding the Oscars that year, not only should it have been nominated for Best Picture but frankly it should've won.

Anyway, Children of Men remains one of the 21st century's finest movies and easily its best science-fiction film and its unjust exclusion from the Top 250 does not take away from that.
