20 Great Movies Since 2000 That You Forgot Existed

17. Blades Of Glory (2007)

Remember when John Heder was a thing? After the surprise success of Napoleon Dynamite, a movie that - today - pretty much defines the idea of a "cult" film, this guy was deemed popular enough to headline a comedy movie with Will Ferrell like it was the most natural thing in the world. And you know what? It kind of was. Nowadays you rarely hear about Blades of Glory, but this is a great, underrated comic gem crammed with ridiculously memorable comic sequences and brilliant one-liners. Ferrell also delivers one of his defining "obnoxious" performances as shamed iceskating champ Chazz Michael Michaels, whilst Heder - who has since disappeared into obscurity - effortlessly matches him as the child-like Jimmy McElroy. Formulaic in places, but genuinely funny from start to finish, Blades of Glory also features great appearances from the likes of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, who play, uh, incestual siblings.
