The cast are all on top form, the groundbreaking effects enhance the movie instead of overshadowing it and the joy of spending more time with these characters more than makes up for how often the narrative attempts to tie itself into inescapable knots.
It may not be as universally-beloved as its predecessor, but Back to the Future Part II must be doing something right if people are still clamoring for hoverboards and self-tying Nike's almost thirty years later.
