20 Greatest Ever Horror Movie Villains

5. Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) - House Of 1000 Corpses (2003)

Funny, charismatic and one hell of a cook, Captain Spaulding has two qualities that keep him out of your good graces - his taste for clown outfits and his sadistic love of torture. If you€™re researching local legends, he€™ll show you his €œMuseum Of Monsters & Madmen€, but that€™s just a pretext to getting you hooked on the story of Dr Satan, and if you follow his directions to the spot where the Doc was supposedly hanged, you€™ll ultimately end up a prisoner of Spaulding€™s associates, the Firefly clan. From the way he talks to cops, you get the impression that the Captain is an old hand at evading questions and dodging the law. Shown a photograph of one of the clan€™s victims, he says: €œCute kid €“ not my type, though. You know, I like €˜em with a little more meat on €˜em. The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin€™.€
