https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYDxxHrlmUg The Movie: Nobody had ever seen a film quite like Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho when it first arrived in theaters. At the start, the audience meets clean cut Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) just running his motel as usual. One of his clients is Marion (Janet Leigh), an attractive blonde who has just stolen $40,000 from her employer. She's ultimately killed in the shower by a seemingly knife-wielding madwomen. The Ending: That knife-wielding madwomen? Norman in a dress and wig, acting as his mother in a fit of fractured psychosis. In the final scene, after being apprehended by the police, Norman shares his thoughts with the audience. Only his thoughts are those of his mother confirming the schizophrenic split personality disorder. Theyre probably watching me. Well, let them. Let them see what kind of a person I am. Im not even gonna swat that fly. I hope they are watching. Theyll see. Theyll see and theyll know, and theyll say, Why, she wouldnt even harm a fly. A disturbing smile curves his face and a hint of mothers skeleton appears as the transition escorts the viewer to Marions car getting pulled out of the swamp. A perfect bloodcurdling last shot.
