Interrogation Cop: You know what happens if you do another turn in the joint? Hockney: F**k your father in the shower and then have a snack. Are you going to charge me dickhead?
The interrogating officer in this scene clearly intended for his lines to come off a little bit more intimidating. He's read the book on playing good cop, bad cop, and he's ready to put what he's learned into action. But Kevin Pollak is not having any of it. He quips back at the officer so smoothly and casually that he actually manages to shift the power dynamic of the situation. He can not make it more clear how utterly unimpressed he is by these policemen, and if he is afraid of going back to jail, he's certainly not showing it. The delivery is what really makes the line. Pollak probably could have gone more aggressive with it, but instead he chooses an offhand tone and comes off as tough without having to make a big scene and scream it from the rooftops.
