20 Greatest Moments From Spider-Man Movies
8. The Upside-Down Kiss - Spider-Man
There's arguably no single more iconic moment in a Spider-Man movie than this, because even people who've never seen a single Spider-Man film in their lives can probably pinpoint its origins.
Raimi's original Spider-Man film features one of the sexiest and strangest kisses in a genre often criticised for its sanitised sexlessness, when Peter saves Mary-Jane (Kirsten Dunst) from a gang of muggers and she rewards him with a kiss in the pouring rain.
But this is no ordinary kiss - Spidey's hanging upside-down, and he won't let MJ remove his mask all the way to discover his identity. It should be awkward and decidedly un-sexy, and yet it totally works regardless of its potential silliness.
It's just a shame Peter was dumb enough to recreate the kiss with Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard) in Spider-Man 3, much to MJ's understandable upset.
