20 Greatest Moments From Spider-Man Movies
16. The Doc Ock Reveal - Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is arguably the greatest Spider-Man movie ever made - yes, even better than Spider-Man 2 and No Way Home - in large part because it's both so visually mesmerising and narratively creative.
One of its most impressive sleights of hand lies in its unexpected reimagining of Doctor Octopus.
We're introduced to Wilson Fisk's scientific advisor, who goes by the name of Liv (Kathryn Hahn), and when she catches Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) breaking into Fisk's facility, she reveals herself to be Olivia Octavius.
It's a genuinely surprising reveal and a fantastic example of how to gender-swap a character in a manner both smart and satisfying.
When you add the character's fantastic animation and Hahn's killer vocal performance into the mix, she's one of the best villains from any Spider-Man movie.
