20 Greatest Movie Moments Of The 2010s

1. Avengers: Infinity War: The Snap

Inception Corridor
Marvel Studios

This might initially seem like a bizarre choice for number one, but this ending, in which main antagonist Thanos wipes out half of all life, including many, many beloved superhero characters, deserves number one and then some.

After all, it's the most talked-about and most meme-worthy film scene of the decade and it was the single greatest cliff-hanger ending in film history; that year-long wait for a resolution was genuinely torturous. It devastated audiences the world over and while you can mock Marvel all you like, the fact that this affected so many people so much is a testament to how skilled Marvel Studios are at what they do.

This ending is also completely phenomenal cinema. It's visually stunning, utterly heart-breaking, brilliantly acted and just a perfect tragic ending in every sense. This was so completely shattering that leaving screenings of Infinity War was like leaving a funeral. Hell, this ending was so fantastic it made the sequel the highest-grossing film ever.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, a mostly strong but far-from-perfect franchise, has been the most dominant film franchise this decade and, despite all the ups and downs they've been through, they still delivered the 2010s' greatest film moment.
